Hearty Beef Stew

I got this recipe from Chef Todd Leonard
You can even watch it being made on You Tube

It was so easy to make.  Just a note that since we can't get the Beef Cubes from Thrive in Canada,  I substituted it with browned hamburger meat and it was delicious!  I will list the ingredients with Dry stuff first in case you want to make pantry jars like me!  See labels for attaching to jars below.

Here is the Recipe with my own changes:

1 Cup Thrive Freeze Dried Potato Dices
1/4 Cup Thrive Freeze Dried Green Peas
1/4 Cup Thrive Freeze Dried Corn
1/4 Cup Thrive Freeze Dried Celery
1/4 Cup Thrive Carrots
3 TBSP Thrive Tomato Powder
3 TBSP Thrive Beef Bouillon
1/2 TSP dried minced garlic
1 TSP Dried Basil
Pepper and Salt to taste

Add 8 cups of water
1 TBSP olive oil
2 TSP Worcestershire sauce
I package of Browned Hamburger meat

Put all above ingredients in pot and bring to a boil.  Reduce and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes depending on how hungry your family is.  Then add 3TBSP of Cornstarch to 1/2 cup cold water, mix and then add to soup to thicken.
Voila!  Serve with buns!  This is a great hearty comfort food that is easy to make and great to bring to someone!  Reheated left overs are even better!
Don't forget while you are measuring out the ingredients pull out some mason jars, Tupperware containers, ziploc bags or what ever you have on hand and measure out this recipe a few times for future meals or giveaways!  Yes it's that easy!

VAL TIPS...I buy my hamburger meat bulk from Costco. I dump the large flat of it into a large pot on my stove, add some Thrive onions, 1 cup water, Use my potato masher to break it up, Put a lid on it and cook on medium heat.  The Water helps to cook it and not burn it so I don't have to hover over the stove.  I just periodically check the meat and "Mash it"  once cooked I dump into the strainer to get off the water and excess fat.  Then I cool and use my 1 cup measuring to scoop into freezer ziploc baggies.  (2 - 1 cup scoops per bag)  I can usually get 7 bags...that's 7 meals! SNAP!
